How can we bring the reality of our Monday-through-Friday lives in alignment with the values aspired by our Sunday-morning selves? The Trellis Fellowship is a nine-month whole-life discipleship intensive designed to equip people to apply the gospel to their heart, community, vocation, and world every day of the week. Through deep spiritual formation, theological study, and community development, Trellis answers the question “How does my work matter to God?”
The final art piece for the Psalm 23 series is this beautiful stained glass by Adam Tenbruggencate depicting Psalm 23:5-6:
"You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever."
All 5 art pieces from throughout this series will be on display in the lobby this weekend to take a closer look at.
As we reach the end of our series on Psalm 23 and engage the topic of fear and anxiety, we wanted to highlight a few more resources you may find helpful.
1. A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by Phillip Keller:
“Travel the shepherd’s path to the green pastures and cool, refreshing waters of Psalm 23. As a shepherd, Phillip Keller shares his insights into the life and character of sheep―and of the Good Shepherd who loves and cares for them. This beloved classic will give new meaning to the ageless Shepherd Psalm, enriching your trust in and love for the Lord who watches closely over you.”
Available to borrow at the North Park library
2. Facing Anxiety by Jonathan Pokluda:
“Anxiety is inescapable in today’s world. When stress overpowers us and fear infects our minds, it can feel like the peace the Bible talks about is impossible to find. And no amount of pretending, overworking, or isolating ourselves will offer us the peace we need. In this four-session series, pastor Jonathan Pokluda explores how Christians can face anxiety head-on. With real-life stories from people facing various kinds of anxiety, this series helps us see that peace can be found on this side of eternity.”

We wanted to highlight a few resources that could be helpful as we explore Psalm 23 and engage in the topic of fear and anxiety.
1. Try Softer by Aundi Kolber:
“In a world that preaches a "try harder" gospel―just keep going, keep hustling, keep pretending we're all fine―we're left exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, and numb to our lives. If we're honest, we've been overfunctioning and hurtling toward burnout for so long, we can't even imagine another way. How else will things get done? How else will we survive? It doesn't have to be this way.”
Available to borrow at the North Park library
2. Managing Anxiety: Yours and Theirs by Steve Cuss:
“With some careful observation, diagnostic tools, and practical habits, you can learn to flip the power dynamic and move from being managed by anxiety to managing it. You can lower reactivity in yourself and others and displace your anxiety with peace. You can be calm, aware, and present. Anxiety carries a message that keeps you stuck and trapped, but you can learn to notice when you are living by that message of anxiety and replace it with a true belief of freedom and peace.”

We have a number of gifted artists at North Park and as we go through Psalm 23 over the next 5 weeks, we have asked 5 different artists to create a piece per week to depict the scripture we will be deep diving into. This piece is Chris Runciman's incredible reflection on Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing."
This Sunday we’re kicking off a new sermon series that we’ve been prayerfully planning for a long time—and we believe it’s arriving at just the right moment. The series is called “I Will Not Fear?”—not as a bold statement, but as an honest question.
Over five weeks, we’ll walk through Psalm 23 together, starting with the words: “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
In this series, we want to wrestle with what it really means to trust God. How do we face our fears and anxieties? What does it look like to experience hope—not just in theory, but in the middle of anxiety and uncertainty—through Jesus?
We’re really looking forward to this, and we hope you’ll come, and invite someone who might need this kind of hope too.
On this day, go back and pray the prayer Jesus prayed for us from John 17:1-26. Pray for unity, and for God to enable us to bear witness to him, so that the world would know the wonders of God’s Gospel. Pray for the Lord to lead us forward, and for the Spirit to change people’s hearts in London. And plan on joining us for a time of prayer tonight at North Park.
Continue in prayer for the person the Lord has put on your heart, and if you have not done so yet, we encourage you to invite themto a service this weekend.

Jesus has told us we do not need to fear, because He will and has given us the Holy Spirit who will use us to bear witness to Him. Let us go to God together today and ask that that would be exactly what happens in this coming season. Let us ask God to pour out his Spirit upon us, and for the Spirit of God to work through us. Let us once again ask God to give us a revival in London and beyond through the work of Holy Spirit, who would use the churches of London to point to Jesus Christ. Ask for hearts to be changed, and us to proclaim and practice the Living Christ.
Pray that the Lord would pour out the Spirit on you and give you the strength to love and care for the person the Lord has put on your heart. If it is appropriate we would encourage you to invite this person to either our Good Friday service or Easter Service. If you don’t think this is possible, pray for the Lord to give an organic opportunity to do so.

Jesus has washed our feet, and calls on us to wash one another’s feet. Jesus has loved us, and called on us to love another. Jesus says, that it is practices such as these that others will know that we are his followers. Let us join together today in asking God to make this kind of church–a church that displays Jesus through practicing the way of Jesus. As you pray, be specific in asking God how we should do this for one another and for London in this coming season. We want to love each other and love the people of London, and so want to go to God and ask him how we can best do this in this next phase of ministry. Let us go to God together today and ask him to empower us and how us how we should love, and display Christ’s love.
Pray also that you could serve and love the person the Lord has put on your heart. Perhaps reach out to them and ask them if there is anything they need, and seek to find a way to tangibly care for them during this time.

In Wednesday’s reading, Jesus makes the shocking claim that when he is “lifted up” then “you will know that I am he.” What Jesus is claiming with these words is that when he is crucified, that is the moment when his nature as Yahweh – God himself – is most clearly revealed. It is by pouring out his life for us on the cross, that Jesus reveals himself as the true God. This is because God’s nature is grace, love, and mercy – while also being one who judges sin. On the cross, sin is judged in Jesus, and God’s love, mercy, and grace is poured out on all who follow Christ. This is the Jesus we want to reveal through our words and deeds, but need God to help us do so. Let us join together in praying that we would participate in God’s work of opening people’s eyes to the crucified and risen Jesus Christ, who still bears the scars of his loving sacrifice for us. Pray that the Lord would bring a revival in London, of people coming to see that Jesus is the “I am” who poured out his Life for them. Pray for God’s Spirit move through us, and the other churches of London.
Pray that you the one God has put on your heart would behold the crucified and risen Jesus–and that in so doing would know God’s love and mercy offered to them.

As we read about yesterday, Jesus called out those who diligently went to the Scriptures and studied the Scriptures but did not come to Him. We are clearly a church that longs to be rooted in the Scriptures. Our kids, youth, and adult ministries all revolve around knowing God’s Word. Let us join together in praying that the Lord would enable us in all of these ministries to not just do this for the sake of head knowledge, but for the sake of knowing Jesus Himself. Further, pray that the Lord would use our children’s, youth, small groups, men’s and women’s bible studies, and discipleship classes to bring people to know Jesus. Pray for each ministry individually that all who come to participate in these ministries, would encounter the wonders of Jesus Christ, and that we would see fruit from each ministry.
Continue to pray for the one God has put on your heart! Pray that God would open their hearts to truly know Jesus.

Rebekah is a Bible translator serving in Papua New Guinea, working to bring Scripture to communities in their heart language. Join us at 7:00pm on March 23 as she will share about her work, the impact of Bible translation, and the challenges and joys of her mission. After her presentation, there will be a time for Q&A, where you can ask questions and learn more about how God is at work through translation ministry.
This week we have been reminded of God’s love for the world, which led him to send Jesus so that all who believe in him could have eternal life with our God. Pray that our hearts would match God. Let us be a church that loves the world, as God loved the world, and points others to know the hope of Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord to make it clear to us how exactly we can participate in his mission in our world in this coming season. We long to be a church that is consistently reaching out and showing people Christ, but we want God’s direction in how we should best do that in this coming season. Ask for God open our hearts to love people more, and to know how best to join him in his mission in London and beyond.
Pray also that your heart for your friend or family member would grow. People are not projects, they are those whom God loves. Let us pray that we would love those whom God has put on our hearts in a way that matches God’s love.

As we have begun to read the early parts of the Gospel of John we have already met John the Baptist, whose entire ministry was about pointing people to Jesus Christ. John the Baptist did not want to gather followers for himself, but to be used by God to gather followers of the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Let us join together in praying today that this would be what we do as well. Let us plead with the Lord to lead us to be a church that points away from ourselves to Jesus Christ, for he
alone is the hope of the world. We fast today to remind ourselves that this can only happen by the Lord, not by our own strength. May God pour out his Spirit upon us so that we would bear witness to Jesus, and many in London and beyond would come to know the name and work of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
We would also encourage you to think of someone in particular in your life who you could pray for today, who does not yet know Jesus, and ask that the Lord to open their heart and bring up organic opportunities to speak to them about Jesus or invite them to one of our Lent services. If you can’t think of someone, that’s okay! Spend time praying that the Lord would lay someone on your heart.

Lent is the Christian tradition’s annual preparation for Good Friday and Easter. It is a time set aside by the church, where over a 40-day period we intentionally seek to repent and fix our eyes on our Triune God through fasting, prayer and thanksgiving.
Lent starts next week and we invite you to join us as we journey through this season as a church family.
We wanted to put together a few actionable steps you can take to help with housing insecurity following our Missional Conversation a few weeks ago.

Baptism is where one publicly identifies themselves with Jesus and his church. It is an act where our faith "goes public" to testify to God's salvation in Christ, and God testifies to us that we are his child.
If you are interested in being baptized or simply would like to have a conversation about it to gain a better understanding, please join us for our Baptism Class happening at North Park.
Join us on Thursday from 7:00-9:00pm for an insightful community dialogue with representatives from Indwell, Mission Services London and Sanctuary London focused on tackling the pressing issue of housing insecurity in London.

As a church committed to serving our community, we invite you to join us in exploring how we can play a proactive role in providing support and creating positive change for those experiencing housing insecurity.

The items in the Dare to Give bags help Mission Services serve those most vulnerable in our city throughout the whole year, and it's great to see people of all ages getting involved as a ministry to be part of this important work. Last week, the little ones in Humble Beginnings stuffed bags with much needed items, and a group from Youth went to Mission Services to help them load and unpack bags that have been brought back so far.
If you still have a bag at home or on a seat in your car, don't forget to return it to the church by December 8.
In the interest of keeping everyone safe due to this inclement weather, all ministry events scheduled for today, including the 60's Plus Christmas Banquet, Young Professionals, and the Women's Bible Study, have been cancelled for today.
The 60's Plus Christmas Banquet has been postponed to the New Year. More details will follow soon.
Stay safe!

I appreciate The Bible Project podcast for bringing the Bible to life in a way that’s clear and engaging. Tim Mackie and Jon Collins have this incredible ability to break down complex themes and passages, making connections I hadn’t considered before. Their conversations help me see the bigger picture of Scripture and understand how it all fits together. Every episode inspires me to keep exploring and asking questions, especially when something in the Bible feels challenging or unfamiliar.
It makes me think about how, at North Park, we're all growing and learning in different ways. Whether we're in small groups, serving on teams, or having personal conversations about faith, resources like The Bible Project equip us to dig deeper and share what we’re learning. It’s a great tool to help us grow in our understanding of God’s story and be better prepared to share His love with our community.
-- Joel Kelsey, Pastor of Outreach
We love the work @missionserviceslondon does for those in need in our city. Every November, we partner with Mission Services in our Dare to Give Campaign. Faith and Science is a course is designed to increase knowledge and generate dialogue on discoveries in medical science that impact on the Christian faith. It will emphasize the positive attributes of scientific advancement, while highlighting the potential ethical issues and areas of concern that may seem to conflict with biblical doctrine. It is the hope that by taking this course participants will conclude that there is room for science and faith to coexist in harmony as we seek to live Godly lives.

"Given our renewed intentionality around spiritual practices and how they shape us to experience God more deeply, I found this book very timely for me to read. The author takes very common things that we do every day, like brushing our teeth, or sitting in traffic, and uses them to remind us to see God in every moment of our days. She reminds us to use these mundane tasks almost as triggers to set up spiritual practices and worship. Something I hadn't thought about connecting before.
I have to admit, the title of this book didn't appeal to me. The word liturgy sounds a little intimidating, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much "liturgy" exists in my life that I don't even recognize. I was challenged to use these everyday tasks to become more aware of God's presence in my life and take these opportunities to praise him for it all."
--Wanda Silvester, Executive Co-Lead
