1. What are some thoughts or feelings that come to mind when you think about witnessing? What are some of your stories or experiences that have contributed to these thoughts or feelings?


2. Read Acts 13:6-14. Paul and Barnabas had just been with Sergius Paulus in Cyprus. History books tell us that Sergius Paulus’ family resided in Pisidian Antioch, so it seems likely that Sergius Paulus asked Paul and Barnabas to take the gospel there. What are the supernatural components of Paul and Barnabas’ witness and what are the natural components? What might be the supernatural and natural components of your own witness?


3. Based on your reading of scripture and knowledge of history, what might the spiritual landscape have been like in Pisidian Antioch – and how might the physical landscape have reflected that? What is the spiritual landscape like in London, Ontario? How is our spiritual landscape reflected in our architecture? Our culture? (What are some things our culture prizes, or perhaps worships?)


4. Read Acts 13:16-22. This is the introduction to Paul sharing Jesus with his audience. What did he include? What did he not include? Why might he have intentionally chosen to share these things over others?


5. What have you noticed that people around you, or people in our wider culture, believe about life, about themselves, about the world? What are some of the things they are longing for? How does the good news of Jesus Christ answer these longings or speak to these beliefs?


6. What holds you back from witnessing about the good news of Jesus? Is it lack of opportunity? Not wanting to end someone? Fear of rejection? A sense of inadequacy? Other?


7. Witnessing requires knowing unbelievers. As a take-away this week, choose one relationship with an unbeliever that you can invest in and reach out to them in an intentional way.


8. Witnessing also requires truly having your own sense of hope to share. As a group, pray together the prayer from Ephesians 3: that being rooted and established in love, you may have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
