Amen! - Prayers of the Scriptures

Acts 7 & 8

With a friend, your family or in your small group, discuss the following questions:

  1. Why is Stephen’s prayer, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them," significant? How does it reflect Jesus' teaching in Matthew 5:43-44? How can we apply this in our own lives, especially when dealing with those who wrong us?

  2. How can we ensure that our actions align with our faith, as Stephen did? Share practical ways you’ve seen or can live out the gospel through service and care.

   3. What does it mean to love our enemies in today’s context? Who are the "enemies" in your life that you find hardest to love and pray for,        and why?

   4. Reflect on a time when you found it difficult to forgive someone who wronged you. How did you handle it, and what might you do                   differently after learning from Stephen’s example?

   5. How does Stephen’s prayer illustrate the power of prayer beyond immediate circumstances? When has prayer impacted a difficult               situation for you or others?

   6. Reflect back on verse 55 and how the Trinity are all present. What are the different roles of the Trinity shown and how does that impact         our life and faith?
