- Read Acts 16:6-15 together
- Paul was not a "lone ranger" but traveled with companions. Who have been important companions in your journey, and how have they shaped your life and/or your walk with Jesus?
- Why do you think it is often easier to try to live independently rather than in Christian community? What challenges or blessings have you experienced in pursuing deeper relationships with other believers?
- In Acts 16, Paul and his companions made plans, but God redirected them. How do you balance making wise plans with remaining open to God's redirection? How have you experienced God’s guidance in your life? Is there an example or two that you can share?
- Karen talked about having freedom and agency while still trusting God's sovereignty. How might you understand this dynamic differently? How does this dynamic affect the way you make decisions about work, family, ministry, or the future?
- Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-26 together.
- Every body part matters in God's economy, every role whether visible or behind the scenes. What gifts, skills, resources, or experiences has God given you? Try to answer honestly - and point out gifts that you see in others. Are you content with this role or do you wish you had a more prominent or less prominent role to play?
- Lydia’s response of baptism and hospitality emphasizes that genuine faith always expresses itself through action. What are some practical ways you notice your faith expressed in your life? Are there areas where your actions and beliefs feel disconnected?
- Lydia used the resources and opportunities available to her for God's kingdom. Looking at your current season of life, what is something you already have—time, experience, relationships, skills, possessions, influence—that God might be inviting you to offer more fully to Him? What is one step you can take in the week ahead?
- There is a partnership between God's work and human participation. Where do you tend to lean more naturally: trying to control everything yourself, or waiting passively for God to do everything? What might a healthier balance look like?
