With a friend, your family or in your small group, discuss the following questions:

  1. Do you make New Year's resolutions? Why? Are you successful in carrying them out? What stops you from fulfilling your resolutions?
  2. What are you wanting to work on or change for this new year, 2023?
  3. What things can you do to draw closer to Jesus in 2023?
  4. Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. Do you have people in your life to help, encourage and support you? If not, why not? How can you find people to help you with accountability and support?
  5. What gifts or talents has God given you? If you don't know, ask some people close to you what strengths they see in you.
  6. Are you using your gifts and talents to serve in the faith community at North Park?
  7. Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-13. What symbol does Paul use to describe the functioning of the church?
  8. Explain the comparison and the main points that Paul wants to convey.
  9. What other symbols are used in Scripture to describe the church?
  10. Who is a member of the body?
  11. What is the role of the members? What is your role here at North Park?
  12. Read James 1:22-25. How are you doing in living out this verse in your daily walk?
  13. Share with your group or a friend the areas that you are involved in the life of North Park. How is your life being enriched by serving? How are you benefiting those around you?
  14. If you are not connected, discuss with your group or a friend how you can be more involved at North Park. Why is it biblical and necessary in your discipleship journey to serve and be involved in the church?
