1. Reflecting on the Story So Far
- As you review what we've seen in Acts up to this point, what major themes are emerging?
- How do those themes help us understand what God is doing through the early church?
2. Exploring Acts 9:32–35 and 9:36–43
- Read Acts 9:32–35 (the healing of Aeneas) and Acts 9:36–43 (the raising of Tabitha).
- What are the key differences between these two stories?
- Who is Aeneas, and what do we learn about him?
- Who is Tabitha, and what do we learn about her?
- What do these two stories have in common, and why might those similarities be significant?
3. Interpreting the Structure
- Why do you think Luke places these two stories side by side?
- What might be missing if we only had the story of Aeneas? What would we lose if we only had the story of Tabitha?
4. Personal Application
- How do these stories speak to different kinds of people and experiences?
- Have you ever felt like Aeneas—paralyzed or powerless in some way? How does his story encourage you?
- Have you ever felt like Tabitha—faithful but in need of resurrection or recognition? How does her story speak to you?
5. The Message of Grace
- How do these stories together reveal both our deep need for Jesus and the radical grace he offers?
- How can our church community help you remember both your need for Jesus and his grace freely given to you?
