John 21:1-14

1. Have you ever gone back to something familiar, a hobby, a place, or a routine, during a season of uncertainty? What drew you back to it, and did it help?
2. The disciples were stuck in an "in-between" season after the resurrection, unsure of what came next. Have you ever been in a similar season where a chapter of your life had ended but the next one hadn't started yet? What did that feel like?
3. The disciples fished all night and caught nothing on their own, but had immediate success when they listened to Jesus. Where in your life are you currently straining without much result, and what might it look like to "try the other side of the boat"?
4. Peter had a rough track record leading up to this moment, denying Jesus, falling asleep in the garden, acting impulsively, yet Jesus invited him back to the table anyway. How does Peter's story shape the way you think about your own mistakes and your place at the table?
5. Jesus already had food on the fire and didn't need the disciples' fish, but invited them to bring some anyway. What does it mean to you that God invites our participation even when he doesn't need it?
6. How is Jesus present in the ordinary, not just the dramatic moments. Where in your everyday life do you find it easiest or hardest to recognize that Jesus is there?
