  1. Read Psalm 23 together
  2. Psalm 23 is beloved by many. What is it about Psalm 23 that attracts you?
  3. How does the Lord provide for our tangible, physical, bodily needs and why is it important to remember this? How can we participate in God’s good provision for our physical bodies?
  4. How is the care of our physical bodies connected to the deeper, unseen parts of our mind, will, and emotions? Have you ever experienced any connection of heightened emotions to your need for bodily food, drink, and rest?
  5. What is the “soul”?
  6. What are some of the other unseen aspects of our world? What is it like to consider that we live with one foot planted in the seen world and one in the unseen?
  7. In what ways do you notice your mind, will, or emotions being hungry or thirsty or tired?
  8. What are the four things that sheep require freedom from in order to lie down?
  9. What are some of the things that our minds, wills, and emotions want freedom from? How does the personal presence of a living Jesus satisfy these things?
  10. What are the practical ways that we embody remembering the Lord’s nearness and feeding on him? How is this difficult for you?
  11. In your group prayer time, begin with 2 minutes of silence and use these moments to think about his nearness and the deep delight and love he has for you.
